As they say in California, “That’s a wrap!” I had so much fun with my friends here, but I need to get back to Ford Elementary and show everyone my Crazy California adventure!!! Farewell for now SoCal...until next time friends!!!

A California Classic
My friend said a trip to California wouldn’t be complete without a pit stop at his favorite burger place! I LOVE In-N-Out!!!! We actually have these in Texas now, which is so cool. The next time I need a “taste of California”, I can see if my mom take me to our closest In-N-Out Buger in Round Rock! Their special sauce sure is special!!! I didn’t know you could actually get it for your fries too! There’s this whole secret menu that my friends introduced me to! Crazy!! Every location here has these crossing palm trees that you see on all of their cups, wrappers and bags. I wonder if all the In-N-Out Burgers in Texas have them too... hmmmm. I think I need to do some research on this when I get back home!
Grauman’s Chinese Theater
Most famous theater for movie premiers! There were a ton of people in line to see a show, so I didn’t get to walk around and see all the famous hand and footprints in the concrete, but the outside was ginormous!
Disney’s El Capitan Theater
My friends go to this theater all the time! It’s really cool from the outside, but we didn’t go in since the movie they’re playing right now is The Avengers which is PG-13. I’m only 8! Maybe the next time I visit California they’ll be showing a movie that I can watch.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
Along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard there are more than 2,600 terrazzo and brass stars with different famous names on them. Here are a couple of my favorites...
Han Solo AND Indiana Jones in one star!
An all time classic!
The Famous HOLLYWOOD Sign!
A trip to California wouldn’t be complete without a view of the Hollywood sign. My friends told me that it used to read HOLLYWOODLAND! Isn’t that weird??
We could see it in the distance from the Griffith Observatory.
This was taken in the Dolby Theater complex where the Academy Awards are held.
Right outside the Dolby Theater...I could pretend I was actually AT the Oscars.
Griffith Observatory
High on top of the Hollywood Hills is the COOLEST observatory ever! They have a periodic table of the elements with the actual elements inside it. The Tesla coil was awesome. We weighed ourselves on different planets, but ever since that bulletin board fell on me, I don’t weigh enough to tip the scales. In fact, none of them realized I was standing on the scale at all! The views of the city from way up there were really cool though.

Dance Convention
Felt right at home today! I’m used to seeing Kam dance in conventions in TX...I got to watch AC/DC dance in the Tremaine convention in LA! That’s them off to the right in white...

Bony Mountain
We went to check out the summit climb I skipped out on the other day! With a 6 hour round trip hike, I opted for the view from the ground instead. 😊

Biking in the Santa Monica Mountains
AC/DC live right in the middle of the Santa Monica mountains, so we decided to take a bike ride through the hills.

Decisions, decisions...
My California Family friends that I’m staying with had a girls day/boys day planned today. So, I was stuck in the middle of this crazy choice of going with the boys to hike to the summit of Bony Mountain (which would normally be my go-to, most obvious choice) or go with the girls to Hogwarts. Boy, this was a tough one! Ms. S said she could use the cloning devise they have in their house and let me do one and my clone do the other, but you really can’t clone the masterpiece that I am!! So, as much as I like to hang with my buddy D, I couldn’t resist a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood with the girls!
I HAD to get a picture on the red carpet!
I’ve been to Univeral Studios Orlando before, but this place was totally different! Thankfully, Hogsmead and Howgarts were EXACTLY the same!!!! I’m happy to report that the Butterbeer and Pumpkin Juice were the same too!!
I didn’t get to take many pictures today since there was so much water at this park. I stayed covered up and dry...I REALLY don’t like to get wet!! My favorite part was the backlot tour. I got to see where actual movies and TV shows are made!! I saw Whoville from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Jurassic Park, Hill Valley from Back to the Future with the cool clock tower, a GIANT plane crash and even sound stage 12 where they film the Voice!
We rode every ride in the park and even saw real stunt doubles in the Waterworld show and famous pets in the Animal Actors show! Such a fun day!!

Hotel California
On our way back to AC/DC’s house, we stopped by this place they called Hotel California. They were explaining that it’s now Cal State University Channel Islands, but that it used to be a hospital. As we drove through, we listened to the song that made this place famous sung by the Eagles. I didn’t know eagles could play music! Huh, I guess you really do learn something new every day.
Pacific Coast Sunset
We went to the beach in Malibu tonight, but since I didn’t have a wetsuit that would fit, I didn’t get in the icy water. AC/DC said I couldn’t go to the beach and not get buried! It sure was warmer under that cozy blanket of sand. I got to watch the sun sink into ocean just beyond Point Mugu. We waited to see if there was a flash of green light, like they say in all of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Nope!
“The fastest game on 2 feet”
Lacrosse is a totally gnarly sport !!! (I’m starting to sound like a local!) The boy I’m staying with is in the white jersey #10 playing middie, whatever that is! He sure is running all of the place with that whacking stick! I think I need one of those!!!
Hooray for Horses!!!!!
We went to the ranch today to hang out with the animals. We made horse treats so we could feed the horses while we were there. They sure are slobbery! The mini horses are my favorite...they’re just my size! Here’s a picture with me and Captain! He’s the biggest horse on the ranch!
I even got to groom one of the big horses. His name was Determination and boy did he need it...he was filthy! I don’t have a picture of that though because all of our hands were BLACK. 😜
Happy birthday Mckenzie!!!
Friday, April 13, 2018
One of my older sisters had her “lucky” birthday today. A lucky birthday is when you turn the same age as the day you were born. Mckenzie is thirteen years old today...a teenager! Which is a big deal apparently! I’m sad I’m not there to give her a birthday hug, but we called and sang the birthday song to her once the teenagers I’m staying with (often referred to as AC/DC) got home from school. I hope she heard me...I was the one singing off key...she likes it when I do that!
Happy birthday from the minions!

Time with the pup

I’m not sure how I feel about this puppy! Every time I come around, she tries to eat me! Maybe that’s a sign that she likes me?

Let’s Go Dodgers!!!!
Wednesday, April 11, 2018
Hooray for baseball! We took in an LA Dodger game tonight!
The crowd was crazy since they were playing another California team...the Oakland A’s.
I simply had to have some of their yummy ice cream because of the blue sprinkles on top!!!
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were there too. I have no clue who they are, but all the adults here sure seemed to.
It was a fun night, but we didn’t get home until after midnight! Don’t these crazy people know I’m only in 2nd grade?!?! Thank heavens I’m on vacation and don’t have to wake up early for school tomorrow!

Los Angeles has lots of famous people! This is Tommy Lasorda! He was the manager of the Dodgers for 2 decades!
Must have sleep!

Flat Bentley was exhausted after his 2 days of travel to California! He slept the day away...even pulled the pillow over his head when it was too light outside. Transitioning to Pacific time is hard ...especially on little bodies!
